Greed for what?
I am writing this article with the intention of all-inclusiveness in the first person so that you also read this in the first person. Greed A selfish desire for money, power and/or fame is what I consider greed. It is possible to be greedy for basics like food and clothing but the intention is self-gratification hence, it is a want and not a need for survival. Limitations of Greed If I look around me, all the survival basics are available free of cost with some exceptions. The 5 elements (water, earth, air, fire and space) are all available in free of cost and in unlimited quantities. The consumption is limited to my needs. Role of Greed Greed starts with the thought of consuming more resources for more happiness. The mind's strange formula: more consumption = more happiness. This formula only works until I stay within optimal limits, beyond that it becomes toxic either in a tangible way (disease) or intangible way (attitude, mental health issues).
